The International Office was started in the year 1997 as a key strategic initiative towards strengthening of the internationalization of the University. The first batch of international students, now Alumni of Moi University were admitted in 1996/1997 academic year to the Department of Forestry, Faculty of Forest Resources and Wildlife Management. These were from Rwanda (2) and Malawi (5).
The office is responsible for coordinating immigration and the welfare of all international students and faculty. The office facilitates the development of partnerships and collaboration agreements with other institutions and acts as a liaison for receiving international guest to the university. It also coordinates student exchange programs for students coming to Moi University or going to other institutions.
The Office is committed to providing services that benefit students’ health, safety and welfare; as well as enhancing the opportunities for learning through various Co-Curriculum activities and recreational programs.
