Moi University held a two day workshop under the theme “Applied Teaching, Learning and Research” was held on On 18th March 2019, at CERME-ESA Boardroom, Main Campus. The Goal of Workshop was to enhance faculty awareness on approaches for practical training, applied research and foster knowledge and technology exchange between the University and the industry using an applied approach to teaching and research. The target participants were staff from the School of Engineering and the School of Business & Economics. The workshops were facilitated by the staff who participated in workshops in German Universities of Applied Sciences in Kenya” supported by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD). The German Universities included the University of Applied Sciences Neu-Ulm (HNU), the Technische Hochschule Ingolstadt (THI) and TH Köln University of Applied Science. The Workshop was officially opened by Prof. Simon Mining, Director, and Research.
The second day of the workshop targeted Industry representatives to discuss ways of “Strengthening Industry - University Linkages”. It was held on 19th March, 2019 at Sirikwa Hotel and the representatives were from Kerio Valley Development Authority (KVDA), Kenya Association of Manufactures (KAM), Kenya Bureau of Statistics,(KBS), Export Promotion Council, Mace Foods Limited, Eldoret Grains among others.
